Will Bloom returns to his family in Alabama, after spending the last three years not talking to his father, and returns immediately when he learns that his father, Edward, is in serious condition. Edward tells the story of his wondrous life in his own way to his son, full of exciting events. His son Will tries to get to know his father more in order to find the truth, only to reveal that his father had indeed lived an adventurous life.
