The film tells the story of an aspiring actress named Betty Elms, who first arrives in Los Angeles, then meets and accompanies a woman with amnesia hiding in the apartment that belonged to Betty's aunt. The story includes many impressionist scenes that are not coherent, but they are ultimately interconnected in different ways, as well as some surrealist scenes and images that relate to the subtle narrative.
