Synopsis

‎The film takes place during a human mission to Mars, where astronaut Mark Watney (Matt Damon) is considered dead, after a terrible storm that prompted his crew to abandon him, but (Watney) survives to find himself stranded alone on a planet with a hostile environment, and with meager supplies he must rely on his ingenuity, intelligence, and courage to survive, and find a way to send a message to the planet that he is still alive. Millions of kilometers away, NASA and an international team of scientists are working to bring him home, while his crew crew are planning a daring if not impossible rescue mission, and as stories of incredible courage unfold, the whole world cooperates for Watney's safe return.‎
