The film takes place in the thirties of the twentieth century. The criminal (Tom Reagan) works for an Irish gang leader who considers him his right-hand man, and gives him full confidence in carrying out his criminal plans. The city is under the control of criminal gangs, and a fierce conflict between two gangs is taking place under the watchful eyes of the police who do nothing. Tom is tasked with killing a bookmaker for revealing some secrets, and at the same time falls in love with a woman, causing a lot of complications in his life. Conflicts flare up between everyone, and Tom discovers that his heart is not dead yet.
