Synopsis

‎The film revolves around flashbacks as it is narrated by the elderly Charlie Chaplin (also played by Robert Downey Jr.) when he lived the last years of his life in Switzerland. , recalls moments from his life during a conversation with George - a fictional character - (Anthony Hopkins) is a journalist who records Chaplin's autobiography. Chaplin's memories begin with his childhood during which he suffered from extreme poverty with his mother and brother, then his escape from the shelter and immersion himself in the world of music and funny shows in the theaters and halls of London, and then His travel to the United States where fame and success. There are references to some of his many romantic memories (including Hetty's Kelly, Mildred Harris, Georgia Hill, Marion Davies, Edna Provianse, Lita Gray, Paulette Goddard and Una O'Neill), and discusses his professional collaboration with McSennett and his friendship with Douglas Fairbanks. ‎
