Shortly after Han arrived in America to assume his new diplomatic post in
Los Angeles, kidnaps his daughter, Su Young, on her way to her first day
At school. Consul Han invites Inspector Lee (Jackie Chan) to help with this case. The FBI decides to remove Lee from the case and entrusts his monitoring task to James Carter (Chris Tucker), who decides to solve the case himself, when he discovers that he has been given a menial mission and after several skirmishes he unites with Lee to save the girl.
