The film is set in Old York City in 1861 during the American Civil War through the story of a young Irish named Amsterdam Fallon (Leonardo DiCaprio) who seeks revenge on the assassin of his father Wasabi Bill the Butcher Cutting (Daniel D. Lewis), whose father was killed in a war between the natives (born in America) and the Irish in Old New York City in 1846.
