In 1935, when the bullet train stops due to snow near Yugoslavia, Detective Poirot, whose car got stuck in the snow the night before, is summoned for a mysterious murder that occurred on the train by Mr. Bock, an acquaintance of Inspector Poirot and director of the high-speed train company, in order to avoid dealing with the Yugoslav police.
