‎History of score in films‎

‎✦ Before the thirties, most films were completely silent, after that music was included in them to give more value and meaning to the image.‎

‎Music was previously used in theatre, which is considered one of the oldest forms of entertainment before the advent of films.‎

‎The majority of silent films were accompanied by orchestras, pianists and anything related to music. She has published a lot of books about the different types of music that can be played around the film to add a suitable mood.‎

‎✦ During the thirties, music became an essential element of the film due to the positive reactions from audience.‎

‎Initially it was Western classical music from the 19th century that was played around films, after which composers began to write more sophisticated soundtracks. The first original soundtrack appeared in King Kong in 1933 and years later composers developed their own styles, including creating unique tones for characters to support the plot and story scripts.‎

‎✦ In the forties, the authors refined their work further, so they exceeded what was familiar in the music industry for films, then the fifties came to change everything, especially with the emergence of jazz and its presentation to the world, and thus the field became more diverse and music composition is less expensive and many musicians were dispensed with, as well as the orchestra, which includes many of them, it is no longer necessary.‎

‎This continued into the sixties. The seventies saw few innovations, and musical works from previous decades were mostly improved, a technique still used even by current composers such as John Williams.‎

‎✦ In the eighties and nineties, composite sounds in movies became more popular, and for the first time only one person was able to produce many sounds for different musical instruments using sound mixers and composed soundtracks for the entire film alone.‎

‎✦ Today, with the development of technology, composers have the ability to create a soundtrack that is better suited to the story of the work, something that strengthens the film and turns it into a good cinematic experience.‎

‎Score and Soundtrack components‎

‎Temporary music‎
‎It is an existing part of the music or sound that is used during the production and editing phase of a film, and serves as a guideline for the rhythm, mood, or tone that the director is looking for in the scene. It helps the director and the author to be along the same lines and outlook.‎
‎Therefore, composers are usually asked to imitate a particular composition or style found in the piece or temporary music.‎

‎Structure‎
‎Films contain different themes and elements of important characters, events, story or climax scripts, hence the composition and play of music depending on them in different styles and depending on the conciliator they represent, they are often played over the occasional or main music. ‎

‎Music‎
‎Many films use songs and music, some contain a small part of them and sometimes they are completely devoid of them, this type of music is called Digitic, it is not part of the work or the film itself as it is only added and placed on top.‎
